Today was nice, finally got to catch up with Max since the eclipse. She was actually supposed to join us there, but couldn’t make it. Usually she’d join me for lunch at the museum, and we’d only have my lunch break for time. Since I had the day off she picked me up and took me to… I’ve forgotten the name already, will have to ask her again later. It was a new deli that opened up near the 16th street mall. Their sandwiches were fantastic; I had one called The Mountain Cat, they put coleslaw on it. So good.
While I was catching her up on my stay at the hospital, she let me know how her classes were going. Of course talking about school for her is like talking about my job, so she was much more eager to tell me about the latest conspiracy video she’d found. I’m still not sure why she likes them so much. As often as not she’s pointing out all the obvious tells that the video is a fake, and I don’t think she’s ever accepted one of these video’s as real. But she sure likes to find them.
This latest video was taken in a church here in Denver during this last Sunday’s services. Some girl in the video is made to appear to use magic and causing some disturbance. The video Max showed me had the girl standing with her arms raised, and all sorts of things flying around the room. Lots of screaming, and more than a few people with their own phones out recording the whole thing.
Max said it was an impressively done video, and some of the other video’s she was able to find correspond with those taken by the other people in this video. But she’s pretty sure it was staged, people out of shot throwing the items across the room, and everyone told to scream and act hysterical. She said they were careful not to repeat common mistakes that other video’s make. Between that and the other video’s all capturing the event, it was really convincing.
I didn’t get a chance to tell Max about Candace and Sam. She was so excited about her new video conspiracy that we ran out of time and she had to get me home before she could go back to class. But it was nice catching up with her. And while we were out she stopped me by the museum to check on my schedule for the next week. Looks like I’m back to my usual shifts. I’ve texted Sam about visiting Candace on Wednesday, that’ll leave Thursday for me to do chores. Honestly since Max is back in school my weekends have been pretty boring, I might just take up visiting Candace every week to fill that void. I might just teach her how to use the DVR, hah!
